Last week, Memorata sent me a pair of shoes that I’m supposed to wear for a style challenge. The catch was to wear that particular pair of heels to let my inner style and personality show. I guess styling was the easy part here because it was a really beautiful pair of shoes, one that any girl would dream of sporting. The tricky part was when I had to ask myself what my inner style really is.
Let’s see… I like clothes that are laidback. I would never go for anything tacky or one that would compromise comfort for style. I can be edgy when I want to, a little bit of Boho somewhere, and maybe girly (but God forbid, not too much!). That said, I went for something clean and simple for the challenge.
The shoe was a statement itself, so I toned down on the rest to let it shine. It’s an outfit I can wear on a regular day, but with killer heels. I went minimal on accessorizing, too. I didn’t want to overdo it because I was trying to achieve an effortless, go-to look.
Whites and denim always look good together. I love these shorts from Indie-Go Boutique because the lace adds character to it. It also spiced up my “simple” look and gave it the girly twist it needed. And of course, I don’t need to tell you how much love I have for white shirts. It’s a classic, and a must-have closet staple!

I feel that to be able to discover my inner style, I also need to ask myself who I am. And believe me, as I type this blog entry, I tried to explain that part. But instead, I had to do a lot of “backspace”-ing, because as it turns out, even I am not sure either. Personal style is an evolution. I think that’s the beauty of trying to find out what it is, because as we search for our inner style, it’s also a journey towards knowing ourselves better.
How about you? Do you already know what your inner style is? Strut it wearing your Memorata shoes! :)
