I’m not sure why exactly, but somehow, summer season can give a girl the much-needed ego boost to bare some skin. Apparently, it’s like a license for wearing short shorts, mini skirts, corsets, and bustiers and yada, yada, yada. Well, at least that’s how it goes here in the Philippines. It might be because of the scorching heat, so people tend to be more considerate and less judgmental.

Whatever the reason, be it the weather or something else, take advantage of it. It’s about time you flaunt those clothes you’ve long been saving for the beach or for whatever summer escapade you have in mind. Of course, don’t forget to throw in those dainty florals and vibrant hues too. It’s such a beautiful season so don’t let a minute go to waste by limiting and depriving yourself. I don’t know about you, but summer for me has always been synonymous to beaches, and palm trees, and fruit shakes… I could go on and on, but basically, it’s just about having fun!

Never underestimate menswear. You’ll be surprised at how many great stuff you can borrow from your brother/dad/boyfriend’s wardrobe. I can attest to that because I always raid Mark’s closet for loose shirts and pullovers. Don’t you adore how menswear can make a woman look and feel effortlessly sexy?

Here’s what I wore last Sunday, and on me was a pair of trousers that’s actually my boyfriend’s. The waistline was way too big for me so I had to secure it with a belt, and then I folded the hems so it won’t look too long. It ended up looking like baggy military pants- just the way I want it!

I guess the key is to carry yourself with confidence. There’s really nothing to be conscious about. Trust me, the people won’t even notice that you’re wearing clothes that were originally made for men. So, next time you go shopping, why don’t you drop by the men’s section? ;)

Wearing different shades of blue reminds me of Miranda Priestly and her big speech about cerulean. Does it ring a bell? If you’re a fan of The Devil Wears Prada, you probably understand what I’m referring to. Haha! I love this movie to bits and pieces. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen this film because I stopped counting. I want to believe that someday it’s gonna be the story of my life (sans Christian Thompson), hihi!

Anyhow, this is what I wore to school last Saturday. I love how a romper can make me feel laidback without being underdressed. Plus it’s floral, so it’s perfect for summer. But of course, I had to wear a blazer, otherwise the air-conditioned classrooms would freeze me to death.

Also bonded a bit with my classmates Cham and Nikki who were both wearing blazers as well! How cute! :)) We had lunch at one of the coolest burger joints in Makati after our fashion journalism class. Have you guys already tried Big Better Burgers? You should! I ordered their Bacon and BBQ Burger and it was awesome! Craving one right now. :D

It’s going to be a long, long weekend. Let’s make the most out of this break to reflect and repent. Wishing everyone a blessed Holy Week! :)
